Profile
About me
My background is in architecture and architectural history, a combined experience that informs the way I approach the representation of spaces and buildings.
I set up David Valinsky Photography in 2019 with a passion for representing good architecture of all ages. Since then I have had the pleasure of documenting buildings from historical treasures to mould-breaking new work for a broad range of clients: architects, contractors, building owners, even furniture designers.
My photography has received awards and recognition from national and international organisations and has appeared in the print and digital press, from newspapers to journals and magazines.
Photography
I start from an understanding of a building’s form, its spaces, materials and details. Guided by a brief, I photograph with the ever-changing natural light as it brings these aspects to the fore.
I develop each image individually to bring out the formal and textural qualities of the subject. This often requires a series of photographs to be combined, ensure that no details are lost to shadow or highlight. Images that are prepared for print undergo further editing, ensuring that the images on the page fulfill their potential.
About my Pricing
The task of portraying architecture is as varied as architecture itself. That is why all my work begins with briefing. This covers all aspects of the proposed work, from timing the photography through to the image format you require. Once the brief is determined I can provide a bespoke quotation for each shoot.
Most of my pricing is structured around half-day and full-day shoots:
- half-day (three hour) shoot: – £300
- full-day (six hour) shoot: – £550
Additional hours will be charged at an hourly rate. For further information you can read a detailed description of my pricing here
All of my shoots are covered by these Terms and Conditions
Licensing
Whether simple or complex, my shoots include a first-party License as standard within the prices described. This license will allow you to:
- use the photographs on your website
- use the photographs on your social media channels
- submit the images to competitions and awards schemes
- submit the images to digital and print journals
- Use the photographs for your own digital and print advertising material
Additional first-party licensing, as well as third-party licensing, can be discussed during the briefing process.
